Week 2: Wild and Wacky Fun

"One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish" by Dr. Seuss is a zany, fun book that both children and parents enjoy. We applied that wacky fun of learning this week at Country Life Kids Camp, as week two's theme was Dr. Seuss's Imaginarium.

In our Young Naturalist Program, we explored our Passport to Fishing program learning about knot tying, rigging, fish handling, fish habitat, casting, and primitive fishing.

Campers learned about fish habitat and pollution runoff.

Our young, creative Dr. Seuss kids showed off their talents by making their fish print t-shirts for this week's special event.

We played capture the flag...eh..."capture the chicken" which resulted in lots of wacky fun and laughs.

The Cooperative games was a mix of speedball and soccer.

The campers battled it out this week in Gaga ball. The competition was fierce, wild, and fun.

"Wherever you fly, you will be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest". Dr. Seuss.

"I like to hop all day and night from right to left and left to right." Dr. Seuss.

Crab soccer was wacky and zanny and fun. It's amazing how hard our campers played in the sun.

"It's not about what it is, it's about what it can become". Dr. Seuss.

Our young gardeners sure have a green thumb, or two.

It was a great week to have a water fun day and our campers had lots of laughs and smiles. "Here are some who like to run. They run for fun in the hot, hot sun." Dr. Seuss.

In Art Class, the campers created Dr. Seuss-inspired blow art to "paint" wacky hair on

Thing 1 and Thing 2.

In Crafts Class, edible themed Dr. Seuss creations were made based on "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish".

"If you never did, you should. These things are fun, and fun is good." Dr. Seuss.

The camp's special event included multiple stations. One station was a fishing derby adventure that tasked the campers to catch the biggest fish or the most fish.

Congratulations to our casting and fishing winners!

Our Instructional Sports camp focused on the fundamentals of basketball such as shooting, lay-ups, finishing moves, footwork, passing, jump stops, pivoting, blocking out, rebounding, dribbling, ball-handling, foul shooting, and offensive and defensive development.

Agility training and focus on quickness and balance paid off, as our young basketball athletes definitely improved their skills as the week progressed.

Congratulations to our hot shot winners this week in basketball!

Country Life Kids Camp embarked this offseason on building a 9-cup chipping and putting green for all campers in time for the 2024 summer day camp season. Our goal is to help develop positive character traits not only in golf, but also in life. This camp would not be possible without the support of the community, and we are truly thankful for all the sponsors who contributed to the golf green.

We still are looking for family and business sponsors who can "pay it forward" for the next generation of young campers. Will you please consider supporting Country Life Kids Camp for your camper and all the future campers to come?

Please scan the QR code or visit us online at www.countrylifekidscamp.com/golfcampaign to make your donation today!

Thank you for your consideration and support for Country Life Kids Camp!

"You're off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So...get on your way!" Dr. Seuss.
