Week 4: "To Infinity & Beyond!"

This week's theme at Country Life Kids Camp was "Toy Story Mayhem", testing the campers engineering and science skills, as well as participating in other exploratory adventures. The biggest thrill was our Special Event that featured a video gaming truck and an epic laser tag battle.

The Toy Story Mystery Lab was a fun experience for our campers. We learned about Potential energy and Kinetic energy. Then we applied the physics of a sling shot to score points to rebuild Mr. Potato Head and unlock the time capsule with an energy burst.

During our Young Naturalist session of "Shadows and Sundials", we explored how the sun effects shadows. The campers built Lego skyscrapers and then traced the movement of the sun from sunrise to sunset to create the first half of the sun dial. We reflected the shadows to discover that we created a clock. These young naturalists discovered how people told time before clocks were invented!

During our creek walk, Yellow Group caught 14 crawfish and over 20 minnows!

Just like Buzz Lightyear, our campers soared through the air. "This isn't flying, this is falling with style."

It's not "Trash", it's "Toys". Our campers had a blast making different versions of "Forky" from Toy Story 4.

The Arts and Crafts session was very patriotic for 4th of July as we made red, white, and blue suncatchers.

The Green Group made Mosaic paintings with seeds. Look at that artistry of talent from our young campers!

During our Lego Masters session, our campers used their creativity to create chain reactions by using the "domino effect." Campers also were reminded how their actions can affect others and how everything they do matters.

In our Rocks Rock session, we learned about making the layers of the earth with Legos.

During Woody's Round Up, the campers pretended they shrunk down to "toy size" and played with large yard board games.

During Buzz Lightyear's Laser Tag Challenge, teams competed against each other to capture blocks and Toy Buzz or Toy Rex to complete their tower and win!

Our campers were able to play a zany round of golf (putt-putt) on the new golf green.

On Special Event Day, our campers loved the video game truck experience. We have some ultimate gamers in the group!
